Winona father sentenced to jail and probation for torturing and killing his 3-year-old daughter.
Judge Elliott Levine, the La Crosse County Circuit Magistrate, sentenced Dylan Bartsh, a Winona father, and Holmes, Wisconsin resident to five years in prison and an additional five years’ probation for the death of Audryna Bartsh, his 3-year-old daughter, in 2014. During his trial, the man was open and admitted his guilt.
Winona Father Stood by as Daughter Withered Away
While presiding Bartsh’s case, Judge Levine commented that it’s hard to imagine what Audryna, the accused man’s daughter, went through before she passed away.
According to the court documents, the Winona father and Jaymie Rundle, his former girlfriend, were arrested in October 2014, after Dylan took his 3-year-old daughter to the hospital.
The doctors who attempted to keep Audryna alive declared that this one of the most grueling children abuse cases they’ve ever encountered. Based on their testimonies, the 3-year-old child was brought to the hospital in critical condition.
Weighing a little over 20 pounds, Audryna fought for her life for nearly three days before passing away. One day before her death, the Winona father’s child suffered a massive brain seizure. Parents were called to the hospital and informed that their daughter hasn’t much time left.
Vincent Tranchilda, the Dane County Medical Examiner who performed Audryna’s autopsy, was appalled by what he discovered. According to the report he forwarded to the authorities, the infant had 70 scars on her neck, 28 bruises and 22 scrapes on her head, severe brain bleeding, one torn lip, 17 bite marks on her body, a black eye, and a fingernail stuck in her neck. Tranchilda also has reasons to believe that the individual forced his daughter to eat salt tablets before taking her to the hospital.
Conclusion
Furthermore, the autopsy revealed that the toddler has dehydrated and emaciated. The police report showed that the abusive Winona father used various instruments to discipline his daughter, including showerheads and coat hangers.
