Wichita man shot her self in the head with a high-caliber rifle.
Kansas authorities declared that Emily Glass, a 27-year-old Wichita resident and a person of interest in the disappearance and murder of her ex-boyfriend’s child, discovered dead on Friday morning. Jonathan Hernandez, Glass’s ex-boyfriend, was the one who found the woman’s body along with a rifle and three suicide notes.
Wichita Woman Discovered the Boy’s Decomposing Remains under a Bridge
According to the police report, back in February, Glass was at Hernandez’s Wichita home, babysitting Lucas, the man’s 5-year-old son, and his daughter. Jamie Taylor-Orr, the children’s biological father was away at the time. Hernandez’s work would often keep him on the road for weeks at the time.
Based on Glass’ confession, while Lucan and his sister were playing in the house, the woman went to the bathroom to take a shower. After leaving the bathroom, Glass went to check up on Lucas and his sister and later fell asleep. That was the last time Lucas was seen alive.
The Wichita woman told the authorities that when she woke up, Lucas was nowhere to be found. She called Hernandez and the authorities to report the child’s disappearance.
Fearing the worst, Hernandez hired a private investigator to expedite the investigation.
Interestingly enough, on the 24th of May, Glass spoke to the private investigator and later led him to a bridge located 20 miles from Hernandez’s house. There, the private investigator found the decomposing body of the missing Wichita child.
Conclusion
Glass was initially arrested and charged with lying to the authorities but was later released. The post-mortem examination yielded very little results, as the boy’s body was in an advanced stage of decomposition.
And then, on Friday morning, Hernandez called the police to report Glass’ suicide. Apparently, the woman was so frightened by the thought of going to jail that she decided to take her own life.
