Kayden Coleman got pregnant after suspending hormonal treatment.
Kayden Coleman, a 29-year old transgender, came to a hospital in 2013, accusing back pains and complaining about his round stomach. Transgender finds out that he is pregnant although we was on hormonal therapy for nearly 10 years.
Back in 2007, a transgender by the name of Thomas Beatie send a strong message advocating transgender rights when he agreed to carry his wife’s child. Beatie’s wife was infertile and he decided to help her overcome this by artificially inseminating himself. A couple of years later, another case draws the public’s attention towards the transgender community.
Coleman was completely taken by surprise when the physicians told him that he was in fact pregnant. He was taken completely by surprise, due to the fact that he was still taking large doses of hormones every day. As stated, the young transgender, was submitted to sex changing procedure which, among other things involved taking testosterones.
He even went ahead a planned a double mastectomy, in order to completely alter his physical appearance. The doctors that have been observing Kayden’s evolution declared that the double mastectomy was the main culprit in Coleman’s unexpected pregnancy.
According to medical procedures, if the patient is undergoing hormonal therapy, he must suspend it for six weeks before the actual operation. It would seem that by suspending the testosterone therapy, Kayden provided Mother Nature with the perfect opportunity.
Although the birth of a child is a joyous event for a couple, it would seem that the little tike really managed to put on strain on Kayden’s life. He and his boyfriend, by the name of Elijah, declared that baby really managed to make a mess of things. Elijah even went ahead and told the journalist that someone who says that a baby is a blessing is either an inveterate liar or he has someone who lends him a hand.
As for Coleman, it seems that his pregnancy really put a strain on him. His labor lasted for about 4 days and after giving birth, Kayden came down with a case of postnatal depression that lasted for more than a year and a half. And to make matters worse, it seems that their closest friends had no idea that he was transgender.
Nevertheless, Kayden and his boyfriend welcomed Azaelia, who was born in December, and the couple seems to be quite happy. Coleman said that he wants to continue with his sex change operations and plans to submit himself to a hysterectomy.
