A 20-year-old South Carolina was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries after he shot himself in the face with a shotgun. The man will have to answer before the authorities for gunning down a horse and threatening to kill a woman and her child.
South Carolina Man Forced Victim to Watch Him Commit Suicide
A Laurens County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson declared that at the beginning of the week, 20-year-old Colton Hurley was taken into custody and charged with multiple counts including animal cruelty, burglary, attempted murder, and kidnapping.
According to the police, Hurley drove to a Hickory Tavern farmhouse in order to confront a woman who was living there. When Hurley arrived, he realized that his victim was not home and went back to his truck to wait.
Once Hurley’s victim arrived home in her car, the South Carolina man rammed her vehicle multiple times, forcing the woman to get out of the vehicle and seek refuge on the farm.
The woman almost made it to the house before Hurley ran and knocked her to the group. After fighting off her aggressor, the woman managed to escape and flee to a relative who was living nearby.
According to the man’s arrest warrant, Hurley picked up a shotgun, went to the stable, and shot one of the woman’s horse at close range.
After killing the animal, Hurley went after the woman. He found her at her relative’s house, holding her child. The woman told the police that the South Carolina man dragged both of them outside because he wanted to commit suicide.
Hurley placed the gun’s barrel on his face and pulled the trigger. Minutes later, he was taken to the hospital, where the doctors determined that his wounds were superficial, as Hurley positioned the gun incorrectly.
