Although rumors regarding the future release of Samsung Galaxy Note 5 leaked some days ago, it seems the tech giant is rather focusing on an alternative future model, namely Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+. Recent documents coming from trustworthy sources show that Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+ won a trademark earlier this week.
In terms of specs and features, the upcoming handset will be a bit smaller than the previously announced Note 5 phablet, translated into a 5.5 inch screen with curved edges. However, its general appearance won’t be much different from the already-turned-to-classics Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge.
A set of cases coming from a Romanian accessory maker is already making a tour of the internet and if the leaked images turn out to be true, Samsung is indeed not making much of a change in terms of design for its future release.
The bottom of the leaked cases is designed with cutouts for an S-Pen stylus. They are also imagined with a speaker grille, a charging port and a headphone jack. Nothing revolutionary really, but maybe the software specifications of the the new model will bring more surprises and upgrades.
S6 Edge+ will host a hexa-core Snapdragon 808 processor along with 32GB internal memory. Regarding the video and photo performance, the handset will home a 16MP rear shooter and a 5MP front-facing camera. The phone will also be provided with a greater battery, of 3000mAH in capacity.
The company is expected to boost its strategy, as Samsung has seen a dramatic decrease in sales for the last months. Their strategy was expected to follow the direction of authenticity and innovation, but it seems that they still have a long way to go until they reach the path of inspiration. If the S6 Edge+ turns to have similar specs to more popular predecessors, the company makes an uninspired move. Consumers appeal to innovation and if Samsung fails to provide that, a future boost in sales will stay in the realm of illusion.
