R2-D2 Fridge is Coming to You

"R2-D2 Fridge is Coming to You"

Haier Asia announced that they will release R2-D2 mini-fridge in December 2015.

Are these the droids you’re looking for? Definitely, when it comes to this new gizmo created by tech giant Haier Asia. R2-D2 fridge is coming to you and the level of detail of this little utility droid is simply stunning. Ever wonder what it would be like to have your own intergalactic droid servant capable of catering to your every need?

Well, according to a press release, Haier Asia went ahead and constructed full-scale replica of R2-D2 and included some cool features as well. Apart from being the icon of the Rebellion, R2 can help you store your favorite snacks, sodas and all kinds of  beverages.

Also the replica seem to be fully articulate. It can run around the house like R2-D2 and it can even talk like the droid via a speaker built on top of the fridge that emits a series of beeps, boos and other sounds associated with the little astrodroid.

But that’s not all, because R2-D2 fridge is coming to you with additional perks. Apart from storing your favorite pastime snacks, R2 has a built-in video projector and it is also capable of connecting to the internet through a Wi-Fi connection.

Maybe you will not receive a message from an intergalactic damsel in distress but it will sure lighten up the mood of those dull movie nights.

So, it all sounds very amazing but are there any downsides to buying your very own droid servant? Quite a couple of them actually. The first con of R2-D2 refers to its capacity of storing beverages. It seems that you can only fit a couple of soda cans in the little astrodroid. Also, the price is quite discouraging.

Haier Asia announced that the R2-D2 full-replica mini-fridge will be available for purchase starting in December 2015 and movie fans will have to pay a whopping 9000 dollars in order to get hold of the little droid. And no, this time we cannot rely on Jawas to cut a better deal.

The full name of the mini-fridge is actually AQUA R2-D2 mini-fridge and its makers made sure that every detail is according to the original design.

A Star Wars marathon seems like a good idea when you’re in a mood. Furthermore, you would probably do just anything to feel the movie all the way. You could try dressing as stormtrooper, or even master Yoda, but the idea of calling R2-D2 to project the movies for you seem enthralling.
