A Pennsylvania man faces a death sentence or life behind bars after the authorities discovered that he stabbed a 14-year-old girl 80 times before shooting her in the head. The girl’s body was discovered by her mother who directed authorities towards the victim’s cousin.
Pennsylvania Man Was the Victim’s Cousin and Lived in the Basement
Last week, the Pennsylvania authorities indicted 20-year-old Colin Haag III for the gruesome murder of 14-year-old Autumn Bartle of Bristol Township, his cousin.
On the 30th of March, Bartle’s mother came home at around 6:40 p.m. and found Autumn lying unconscious on the floor. According to the woman’s testimony, the floor was splattered with blood. Autumn was rushed to the hospital, where she died three days later.
The investigation revealed that Autumn’s murderer was her 20-year-old cousin, who was living in the woman’s basement. The suspect disclosed no motive for killing the girl.
Although the girl’s autopsy was not concluded, the coroner revealed that Autumn was stabbed 80 times before being shot in the head from close range.
The homicide detectives believe that there may be more than one person involved in Autumn’s murder. While investigating the woman’s house, the investigators discovered a significant amount of blood in the living room and in the bathroom.
Moreover, the bathroom’s window had a bloody handprint on it which led investigators to concluded that Autumn tried to escape through the window after she was attacked. An analysis of the window revealed that someone from the outside locked the window while Autumn was struggling to get out.
For the moment, the authorities have yet to discover the identity of the person who helped Haag commit murder but might soon disclose a person of interest. Meanwhile, the Pennsylvania man was booked into county jail, where he’s being held without a bond.
