Oregon Man Asked the Homeless Man Not to Camp in the Neighborhood
Last week, the authorities were summoned to a Portland address by a woman who said that her father had been stabbed in front of his home.
Upon arriving at the location, the paramedics identified a male victim with multiple stab wounds.
The victim, later identified as Kasey Lebechuck, was listed as critical when the ambulance transported him to the hospital.
Kayla McNeel, Kasey’s daughter, told the authorities that her father went outside after seeing a homeless man trying to set up camp near their home.
McNeel mentioned that the neighborhood she’s living in had had Its share of homeless-related issues, with people refusing to leave even when ordered by law enforcement officers.
As authorities later found out, Lebechuck approached a man and politely informed him that he could not stay there.
The suspect, 25-year-old Todd Schneider, told the victim that he needed to take a call and reached for his backpack.
Instead of retrieving his cellphone, Schneider drew out a knife and repeatedly stabbed Lebechuck.
The ER doctors who performed Lebechuck’s surgery declared that the man was stabbed 17 times in the back, head, chest, right lung, stomach, and right eye.
Conclusion
At the moment, the Oregon man is in a stable condition at a Portland hospital. The doctors believe that he will make a complete recovery.
Schneider was taken into custody shortly after stabbing Lebechuck and charged with first-degree assault and attempted murder.
