Mark Costello, Labor Commissioner from Oklahoma City was killed this Sunday afternoon after being stabbed numerous times inside a Braum’s fast-food restaurant. His son, Christian Costello, was arrested soon after on a first degree murder complaint.
After the stabbing was reported at the Oklahoma City Police Department, officers rushed to the Braum restaurant in the northwest area of the city. The police found out that the quarrel motioned from inside the building to the parking lot where passerby have attempted to save the victim from the vicious attacks of the assailant.
Costello was inflicted with multiple stab wounds in in the skull and neck areas, says the head officer of the OCPD, Balderrama. The TV news stations from Oklahoma came into knowledge that the attacking weapon was a steak knife. The victim has died in the hospital a few minutes after his arrival there and will be subjected to an autopsy by the state medical examiners.
The victim’s 26 year old son, Christian Costello was the one arrested for the murder and remained in police custody, whether he’s innocent or not remains to be seen in court once his attorney can comment on the accusations. TV stations all over Oklahoma state that the father and son were arguing earlier in that day and they had met at Braum’s in order to work it out.
One bystander has seen the entire scene while driving around the area. He describes the moment as very dramatic and cold. He has witnessed all of the stabbing and the moment when the two brave citizens from the parking lot approached the attacker by taking his knife away and pinned him down to the ground.
Mark Costello was in a 30 year old marriage and had five children including Christian. US Senator James Lankford, a friend of the victim, said in a statement that Mark was one of the most passionate and principled persons he knew and that he will pray for his family as they suffer from this terrible tragedy.
