Obama Wants To Make It Easier For Immigrants
It looks like Obama wants to make it easier for immigrants in 2016. Needless to say, this is probably going to heat up the debates among presidential candidates, but can also put America at great risk. While, indeed, this sort of move does suit the Obama administration and it is understandable why this move was made, the safety of the population should not be neglected to such an extent as letting people who we know nothing of have a free stay in the U.S.
The Obama administration has been undergoing some heat lately, thus officials want to make it a top priority to enroll immigrants by the time Obama leaves office in the first month of 2017. White House advocates and officials need to see this done as soon as possible since, given the circumstances, failing to enroll all immigrants could be seen as a final stain on the not so clean Obama administration.
Officials were looking forward to a victory in the high court in June this year. The victory would have ensured that they had sufficient time to help immigration laws go forward. The program was not successful, however. In fact, it has yet to even start because of the 25 states’ victory on a federal upheld injunction. Obama’s program has been on hold for over a year and this is the sign that things need to start moving. And fast.
The loss of legal battles as well as the presidential candidates’ promises to see Obama’s strategies reversed are nothing but pressure points for the Obama administration right now. Although this is the major plan that officials are moving forward with in mind, there have been official declarations that enrolling 5 million immigrants is a big no-no. So Obama either needs a miracle or he won’t see these laws passed the finish line.
The White House press secretary declared that “even in light of a favorable outcome for the administration and the country, I don’t think the expectation is we’d get 5 million applications on the very first day”. Nonetheless, Josh Earnest claimed that the administration will move forward with a firm step. Who knows, maybe they can pull something off.
Obama wants to make it easier for immigrants in 2016. What do you think? Is this actually an accomplishable task?
