A phone that can whitstand water is very hard to find, although Apple and Samsung have both released their models that are water-resistant. Most of users are still in search for the perfect phone that can prove to be water resistant and resilient in front of all the spills, drops of water and damage that may happen when water meets phone.
Now Motorola, not exactly the top player on smartphones market, has released its Moto G third generation which is completely waterproof. Moto-G is Motorola’s bestseller mobile phone in the past two years.
The new model has a 5” inch with 720p display, 8GB of storage and 1GB RAM. Motorola G can be used underwater up to three feet deep and up to 30 minutes. Well, you can now sit patiently and watch as your phone succumbs underwater, because you will have it back intact.
The phone also has a built-in Micro SD slot for added storage and interchangeable plastic back covers which can be switched, depending on your preference. You have at your disposal no less than 10 colorful back covers. Motorola is running on Lollipop and has a 13 MP camera. Rumor has it that is not very performant when it comes to taking pictures with night mode and you can hardly see the display due to bright lights outside. On the other hand, Moto G’s capacity of taking pictures in natural lighting is more than decent.
When it comes to aspects related to design, Motorola has made almost insignificant changes in the front and a significant one behind. On the front side, in place of the metallic grille which stood out on the earpiece speaker and base, now there can be found two depressions. We also have a thicker bezel on the top and bottom. The power button is located on the right-hand side and on the top we have a 3, 5 mm audio jack, right in the center. At the base, we can find the micro USB port for charging and data transfer.
The rear side hosts major design language changes. On the one hand, there is the removable rear cover, which is textured and offers a very good grip. On the other, we can see this single silver-gray column which hosts the 13MP rear camera at the top, followed by the dual LED flash unit below.
The phone doesn’t exactly look state-of-the art but is indeed a very useful piece of technology, as it can prevent hard damage due to its highly water resistant capacities. Motorola’s waterproof Moto G has propelled the brand to the peaks of technical advancement. Truth is we were a bit tired of constantly hearing about Apple and Samsung battling over performance and popularity.
