A woman was removed from an Emirates Airlines flight after she complained about menstrual pains.
A 24-year-old woman from Birmingham was allegedly booted off an Emirates flight after she complained to her boyfriend that she had menstrual pains. The company declared that the woman actually had a severe medical condition and that continuing the 7-hour-long flight would have put her life at risk.
Woman’s Menstrual Pains Compels Couple to Rebook Flight
According to Beth Evans, a 24-year-old Birmingham resident, she had just finished boarding the Dubai flight together with Joshua Moran, her 26-year-old boyfriend, when she was informed by one of the flight attendants that she would need to disembark.
Evans told the reporters that after taking their seats, she leaned over towards Moran to tell him that she just got her period and experienced mild menstrual pains. The woman added that although she whispered this to her boyfriend, a flight attendant passing by must of overheard her.
The woman and her boyfriend were told that they must wait for a doctor to come on board in order to consult the young. However, after waiting for several minutes, the couple was informed that no doctor was available at that time and that they must disembark and head to the nearest medical center.
Evan declared that this sudden turn of events took a toll on their finances, as the couple was forced to spend an extra 500 pounds in order to rebook the flight.
Conclusion
Following the incident, an Emirates airlines spokesperson declared that the woman was indeed overheard by one of the flight attendants, as she was complaining quite loudly about her condition. The flight attendant went to the captain who, in turn, decided that the woman should seek medical attention as the 7-hour-long flight from Birmingham to Dubai might aggravate her health.
Eventually, Beth and Joshua managed to reach their destination but not until spending twice as much as before.
