If you are a devourer and enjoy eating breakfast at McDonald’s, then you should know the company has a big surprise for you. Breakfast will remain in menu all day long in all restaurants situated in the US.
Starting from October 6, McDonald’s will give its customers the possibility to order the breakfast menu all day long. The big change comes as a consequence of the newly chosen CEO to improve the food chain’s sluggish sales. As a matter of fact, this change has been discussed since 1970, when McDonald’s launched its much appreciated Egg McMuffins.
“All day. All day. The rooster’s going to be crowing all day, cracking eggs all day. This is going to be great. Good times,” claimed Ronald McDonald.
Apart from Egg McMuffins, customers will also be able to order Hash browns, Sausage McMuffins, cakes and oatmeal.
Before implementing the change, McDonald’s tested it in some of its restaurants in March. After that, approximately 14,300 restaurants in the US were provided with griddles and the stuff was trained to serve the new menu simultaneously with other products.
Amy Schillinger, one of the food chain’s managers, claimed that customers were those who demanded this change in the menu.
Nevertheless, although some customers are happy with this new change, others fear that the all day long availability of the breakfast menu will slow down workers’ efficiency because, apart from burgers and fries, they will have other products to prepare.
One of McDonald’s regular customers claimed that the change will slower the service if the fast food chain doesn’t increase the number of employees. The company, however, stated that it is conscious of the fact that some of its stores will have to make some changes concerning the number of workers as well.
40% of the food chain’s total profits come from the US, but this year the profit decreased with almost 9%. After this change, profits are expected to increase with almost 4%.
