KFC Smoky wings box can be transformed into a drone.
Whoever thought that a thing as plain and boring as KFC Smoky Wings Box can turn into something awesome like a smartphone-controlled drone? Yes, you read that right. As part of a new finger-licking campaign, KFC Indian is now handing out special KFC Smoky Wings boxes that can be quickly turned into a drone.
How Does a KFC Smoky Wings Box Work?
Remember when Google Cardboard made its stage appearance? It’s been a while since the cheap VR solution hit the market, but everything can recall sitting there and asking themselves how a couple of flimsy cardboard pieces can turn something into VR.
It’s probably the same thing with KFC’s wacky gizmo. According to the Indian branch of the company, the drone isn’t hidden inside the box – it’s the box itself.
After finishing your meal, all you’ll need to do in order to have yourself a functional drone is to follow the step-by-step instructions on the box. You’ll also need to head to Google Play Store and download the companion application.
Specs-wise the KFC Smoky Wings Box drone isn’t exactly a top-performance UVA, but no one actually expects a cardboard drone to fly around for hours.
Now, before heading to your nearest KFC to inquire about the drone, keep in mind that this campaign is available only in India and in select locations. Also, according to KFC, this will be a very limited edition, so you better hurry if you expect to fly one anytime soon.
Conclusion
This isn’t exactly the first time KFC comes up with wacky products. A couple of months ago, the company released a similar Smoky grilled box with an integrated phone charger for those who just love to browse the Internet while eating at a KFC diner.
So, if you’re not sure how to feel about getting a drone, trying out KFC’s cardboard drone would be a good starting point.
