The Colorado woman claimed she was abducted and tossed into a dumpster.
A 31-year-old Colorado woman was recently arrested and charged with filing a fake report after the authorities determined that she was lying about being kidnapped. The ‘victim’ was found bound and gagged inside a trash container and claimed that she doesn’t remember anything.
Colorado Woman Tied up with Zip Ties
On the 27th of March, a passerby would contact the authorities to say that he found a woman bound and gagged in a trash container. Upon arriving at the location, the police officers discovered 31-year-old Linnea Hayda conscious and responsive.
The woman was promptly rushed to the hospital where a law enforcement official took down her statement. According to the woman’s claims, she was abducted from her home by an unknown person who allegedly threw her into a vehicle and told her that she’s never going to see her children.
After that, the unknown assailant tied her arms and legs with zip ties and abandoned her in a dumpster before being found by a passerby. During the interview, the woman told the authorities that she blacked out soon after being tossed in the dumpster and doesn’t remember much of what happened before that.
Although the woman’s case appeared to be legitimate, the authorities spent almost 200 hours checking out everything Hayden declared. It wasn’t long until the investigators discovered that the Colorado woman’s story had a lot of questionable points.
Conclusion
In light of a recent case breakthrough, which the authorities refused to disclose, the 31-year-old woman was arrested and charged with multiple counts including faking a police report, tampering with evidence, and attempting to influence a public servant.
A Colorado Police spokesperson declared that Hayda’s actions are reprehensible, to say the least, costing the authorities vital resources which could have been diverted to more important matters.
