Researchers have some good news for us.According to a report made by the U.S. Centers for Disease and Prevention, cases of chickenpox have dropped since the 2-dose of vaccine started. They hope that in the feature this disease will disappear. It was reported an 85-percent drop in chickenpox cases in the last few years.
This 2-dose of vaccination has been since 2006. Since then, the chickenpox cases declined for children between 5 and 14 years old. They got a second shot of vaccine against the disease. Before this program, millions of Americans faced varicella virus every year. There were some who even died because of this disease. Doctors used the first vaccine in 1996. There was a huge decline in cases of the disease in the U.S. However, the did not solve the problem. They needed a better vaccine, one that could kill the disease.
That is when they decided to make the second vaccine. Parents should get their children to the first chickenpox vaccine shot at 12 to 15 months. The second will be given when the child will be between 4 and 6 years old. This vaccine will protect your child against measles or rubella. It is your choice if you want your kid to have one vaccine for this disease or separated vaccines. Children who got their shot are more likely to be healthy, not to have fever and chickenpox will not be a problem for them.
What is very important is how your child has reacted to the first shot. If they had allergic reactions is better to not go with the second. There are also children who are allergic to antibiotic. Pay attention to what substances is your kid allergic before going with him to the hospital. Moreover, do not get pregnant if you had the shot in the last month.
This is the information you need to know about getting a chickenpox vaccine. If it will be as effective in the future, it is possible that this disease will disappear.
We are hoping for the best as a disease which had no cure a few years ago are now treatable. Humanity is improving its research and someday we might be able to have a cure for cancer. Doctors are advising parents to get their children to a doctor because the vaccine will prevent them from a dangerous disease.
