Apple has gotten itself into a little bit of trouble lately. If in the past the tech giant was covered in praise and glory, the universal law of compensation never ceases to strike back by offering the downside of fame: controversy. Apple is not swimming in clear waters right now, as the Watch has been revised as an all-time failure, sales have dropped, the music streaming service is on a controversial path as well and the only thing that keeps on going well is the iPhone.
The tech giant is nevertheless trying to boost its other offerings too, by launching new promotions in order to leverage sales and gain more popularity and profits. Apple launched its Back to School deal today, offering those who want to buy a Mac under education pricing, a free pair of Beats Solo 2 on-ear headphones. Users are also allowed to upgrade to a pair of wireless Beats Solo 2 Headphones for $100.
The $200 discount is available at purchase and potential buyers can get the headphones in white, black, red, blue, pink and gray.
Special offers and deals are more suitable to b-companies that try to win the attention of large masses of public. Apple used to be a company that delivered niche products and in the past they were not as interested in special offers and promotions as they are today. This is a clear sign that the company is presently facing a crisis, as new sales strategies arise and old products get promoted in front of the new services they hold in their high tech savvy hands.
The Apple music streaming service was announced with optimism and enthusiasm but it seems that the battle with Spotify is not as simple as they thought it would be. In support of their new musical approach, the giants have also released a new batch of iPods, but they failed to win the praise they were expecting.
This is actually the first time Apple has offered free Beats headphones as part of a new purchase promotion. Looking back into their history, Apple used to offer free iPod devices with the purchase of a new Mac. That was more suitable to the ensemble, if we come to think about it. It is clear that they want new, fresh people on their users database and they are willing to “compromise” a bit.
Apple launches special deal expected to open on July 23 2015. The Back to School program will end on September 18 2015. Products available for promo sale can be purchased from the Apple retail stores and the Apple Authorized Campus stores.
