The Arkansas thief caught red-handed while paying with stolen credit card.
And because no week’s complete with our worst thief award, here’s a story coming all the way from Arkansas. Apparently, an Arkansas thief got nabbed by police on Tuesday after he tried to pay for his meal with the credit card he stole from his waitress’s purse.
Arkansas Thief Stole Waitress’s Purse from Gas Station on Saturday
According to a Pine Bluff County police spokesperson, on Tuesday, the authorities arrested 21-year-old Shamon West. Allegedly, the man attempted to pay for his order using the credit card he stole from a woman’s purse on Saturday.
Based on the police report and the footage retrieved from the gas station’s security camera, West parked his car near a fuel pump, filled the tank, and left the car to pay. However, on his way to the cash register, he noticed a vehicle left opened with a woman’s purse lying on the front seat.
West took the purse, went back in his car, and drove off without paying for gas. The suspect’s victim was Flora Lunsford, a waitress working at the local diner.
As fortune would have it., the Arkansas thief went to have a meal at the same diner Lunsford’s working. This happened on Tuesday.
According to the authorities, after the individual finished his meal, he asked Lunsford to bring his bill. The man then took out Lunsford credit card and attempted to pay with it. Of course, the waitress went around the back and called the authorities on West.
Conclusion
The Arkansas thief was promptly arrested and charged. Lunsford’s missing documents, such as driver’s license, ID, and credit cards were found in West’s vehicle.
For his deeds, the individual was charged with forgery and theft. He’s now in the Jefferson County jail. A magistrate set his bond at $2,840.
