World of Warcraft Becomes Immersive

World of Warcraft Becomes Immersive

Blizzard are accepting everything they can to keep World of Warcraft alive. While questing through Azeroth has been looked at during these last years, it never exactly fulfilled the players’ expectations. Questing has to be an immersive adventure nowadays. MMOs are changing and players want a little bit more than the “go there, farm that, bring it here” boredom.

So Blizz decided to make things a little more interesting for the players and allowed an addon that made dialogues seem like actual dialogues. The addon removed the massive wall of text that you have to click through over and over and they split the dialogue into multiple parts so that you can actually understand what you are doing, why you are doing it and also have your decisions impact the world.

It is a rather intelligent feature that two independednt developers from Curse.com seem to have taken from games like Guild Wars 2 or Elder Scrolls Online. The problem with MMORPGs is that they make players grind a lot for items that they will be using a rather short period of time. Then you get to the highest level and you need to grind for your most desired gear for days, even months until you finally get it. And then, again, you need to enchant it, add other special features, so on and so forth.

It is rather difficult to keep your enthusiasm level up without having anything else to think about. You constantly have to worry about farming the two thousand ingots that you require to craft your armor or your sword and you also have to worry about the fact that the craft might be successful or not. If a craft fails you just want to go mad.

The way the game was designed up until now made us forget a very important thing: that the journey is way better than the destination. It is not important that we reached level 100, what is important is the adventure that we have gone through to get to that level, the friends we met and the reason why we fought to get to the top.

World of Warcraft is one of the few games in the gaming world which has a very well-shaped history. The lore is fantastic and the characters and their deeds are actually taken from real life. So it is great if you can empathize with the world and get a little more involved into it. It really feels like one of the best addons that CUrse came up with and Blizzard tppk into consideration for World of Warcraft. And it can definitely pay off.
