Sand Diego twins born one year apart from each other will forever officially have different ages despite a difference of only 3 minutes.
Jaelyn, the baby girl was born on December 31 2015 at 11.59 p.m. while Luis, the baby boy was born on January 1, 2016 at 12.02 a.m.
Maribel and Luis Salgado welcomed their twins on the night between the years, accompanied by their older daughter Isabella. The couple from National City had plans of spending the New Year in Los Angeles but they ended up at the Kaiser Permanente Medical Center in San Diego. Despite ruining their plans, the young parents were excited by the news that their twins are about to come sooner than expected.
Maribel, 22, was expecting the twins to come at the end of January. But even if they were premature, both children were born healthy, with the girl weighting four pounds, 15 ounces and the boy five pounds nine ounces. Their mother said it was an easy birth.
Maribel, 22, works as a cashier at the International Airport of San Diego while Luis works as a Navy diesel mechanic. According to Luis the couple didn’t mind having twins born one year apart from one another and actually made plans of two different parties one after the other for the rest of their lives.
However, the case of Jaelyn and Luis is not unique. Another couple of twins were born one year apart in Ventura, California.
K’lah and Cameron Jenkins have celebrated the New Year as very fresh parents at the Community memorial Hospital. Their twins were also expected a month later, with a C-section already scheduled for January 25 but it seems that these twins didn’t want to share the same birthday.
K’lah’s contractions started at 11 p.m on the New Year’s Eve and at 11:59 on December 31 2015 she had her first baby and a minute later on January 1, 2016 at 12:00 a.m. the second one came into the world.
Both girls were healthy and happy. The first one was named Brystol Skye and the second Brynlee Rae. Brystol weighted five pounds two ounces while Brynlee’s weight was four pounds nine ounces.
K’lah, 27 and Cameron, 25, already had two boys and now they say that their family is complete.
Even if their families are happy about their twins born one year apart, the children will always have different official ages.
