The first iPhone 6 model came along with controversy. A funny and unfamiliar bend was keeping the sleek and chic handset from being flawless. Media screamed about a potential failure but Apple did its job in delivering the best, as it always does, and has eventually gotten away with a strong marketing strategy.
After that, the Apple Watch was released. It was going to be great. You could connect it with your iPhone and enjoy the multitude of apps and functions meant to make your life more entertaining, more interesting, more connected. The story goes like this: the iPhone 6 got away with its bending issue but the Apple Watch didn’t get that lucky. It didn’t get away with all the negative reviews coming from the media, which eventually turned into a great sales disaster.
Now Apple is concentrating on releasing a new iPhone 6 model, which is expected to be greater, faster, and stronger than any other phone coming from the Apple giant. The more so the Apple Watch was such a loser and now the tech giant needs to boost its sales and wash all the bad words that defined the Watch.
The new iPhone 6 model will not be dramatically different compared to what we can already see on the market. It will surely be released with iOS9, most likely this fall, and everything about it will be about saving the face of the Apple Watch’s sales.
The upcoming device is designed for a better coordination with the watch, allowing for consistent updates and a better functionality. Apple is going to offer the new iPhone in the same shade of gold metal that the watch comes in, in a shy attempt to go into the streamlined branding direction. The guys are doing that as the sales of the watch are down with more than 90% since launch and the picture is not getting more optimistic.
In terms of specs, the new series will be empowered by 2GB RAM and storage options ranging from 16,64 and 128 GB. Other rumors relate to the adaptation of NFC and a wider range of cellular components.
Apple will release two iPhone models this year: the iPhone 6S and the iPhone 6S Plus. It seems that the screen sizes will be kept and designs will remain almost unchanged. The most expected update is related to the phone’s functionality of the Apple Watch support and we’re keeping calm to see how that will happen. Maybe the Watch still has a chance to become a winner.
