Probably some of us can relate to having an issue finding a bed to crash after having one too many drinks. It would seem that a Texas woman was so plastered that she fell asleep in the middle of a busy road. Luckily for her, a sergeant patrolling the road found her in time and dragged her to safety.
Texas Woman Fell Asleep After Her Car Got Stuck in a Ditch
Sergeant Charlie Scott with the Houston Police Department shared the mind-boggling story of how he found an intoxicated Texas woman sleeping in the middle of the road.
The tale, which was recently posted on the Police Department’s Facebook page, begins with Sgt. Scott patrolling the FM 1093, a busy county road west of Houston.
At one point during his patrol, Scott saw something lying in the middle of the road. According to the Facebook post, Scott first swerved to avoid the object. However, as he got closer, he saw that the object blocking the road was, in fact, a woman.
Scott’s dashboard camera captures the moment of Scott slamming the breaks and jumping and jumping out of the car to render assistance.
The Houston police officer said that the woman appeared drunk. After he woke her up and pulled her off the road, the Texas woman told Scott that her car got stuck in a ditch about 200 yards up the road. She also told Sgt. Scott that after she after she tried to free the car, she fell asleep on the road.
Conclusion
The intoxicated Texas woman was later identified as Jeanette Murillo. Following her run-in with Scott, the woman was charged with public intoxication.
Scott’s colleagues wrote on Facebook that if the police sergeant hadn’t found her, she would have probably ended up in the morgue.
