Surprising move by one of the most relevant tech giants, as the Korean company Samsung takes out logo on Japan smartphones. A spokesman talking on behalf of Samsung has confirmed on Saturday that the new smartphones produced by the Korean company will no longer feature the well known logo in Japan.
Both of the new generation phablets by Samsung, the Galaxy S6 and its curved twin, the Galaxy S 6 Edge are in this situation, as they do not feature the Samsung tag on their design.
Instead, the Japanese telecom associates of Samsung have made an important marketing step, given the fact that S6 and S6 Edge now appear as Docomo Galaxy and au Galaxy.
Even if it is a clear fact that such a measure that Samsung has agreed is an important change and a situation which made both tech experts and tech enthusiasts to raise their eyebrows, the Korean company declined to offer an explanation on why they have decided to go with the Docomo and au names, at least no more than the confirmation accomplished by one of Samsung`s spokesmen.
This is an unexpected change from the point of view of the Korean company`s struggles to dominate the Japanese market as well. Samsung has constantly tried to give their best efforts in Japan, where it had to deal with its greatest rival, the American tech giant Apple, who has also reached a relevance of global level. Other significant competitor in the tech market of the Eastern state are the Japanese tech manufacturers themselves. Sony, Fujitsu and Sharp are among them, leading a `battle` against Apple and Samsung for Japanese market hegemony, thus it has amazed most of the people concerned with tech matters that the latter decided not to abandon the ship, but certainly changing its approach to the situation in Japan.
As for the situation of another Oriental country, Samsung has also made a step in South Korea. Last week, the tech company rolled out its most recent smartphone.
The Korean tech company is under a considerable amount of pressure, some analysts claim. The main reason for such a situation is that the profits which Apple has plunged are growing quarter by quarter in the smartphone area. Apple`s no. 1 weapon is the new iPhone 6, which has known impressive sales ever since it hit the stores.
Samsung is putting its trust to the new Galaxy generation, in order to ameliorate the gap between the Korean company and the American giant.
