A new research study in China reveals that people with heart diseases have a chance to make their lives better with the help of a little device which brings surprising benefits. People with heart conditions benefit from using indoor air purifiers, with several risk factors improved or alleviated, making life conditions fresher and healthier.
This is great news especially for the areas where air pollution is a problem. Although air purifiers don’t prevent heart attacks or similar major medical problems involving the heart, using an air purifier leads to reduction in cardiovascular events, according to an editorial published in The Journal of The American College of Cardiology.
As some previous research found that particles in the air hidden from the eye can increase the risk of heart related problems, including strokes and heart attacks, the new findings offer relevant alternatives that offer an optimistic view on the things we cannot control but we can prevent from happening. A simple air purifier kills large communities of bacteria and small harmful particles in the air we breathe, making the atmosphere more suitable to a healthy and partly risk-free environment.
China was the country to conduct this particular study, as it is the region with highest level of pollution in the world.
Target air pollution level set is 35 micrograms of tiny particles per cubic meter, while air pollution in biggest cities in Asia exceed from 100 to 500 micrograms per cubic meter, which is quite alarming.
The study consisted of testing 35 healthy college students who randomly used real or fake air purifiers for 48 hours. Two weeks later, the students spent another two days using the type of air purifier they hadn’t used before. Results were surprising. Those exposed to real air purifiers were benefitting from a healthier environment which resulted in a lower risk of suffering from heart diseases.
Air purification reduces air pollution by 57% from 96 micrograms per cubic meter to 41 micrograms per cubic meter, as researchers have concluded. Real air purifiers have significant improvements in matters of inflammation and blood clotting. Researchers have also found decreases in blood pressure and reduction in airway inflammation, also known as exhaled nitrous oxide. Lung functions, blood vessels constriction were improved as well, but still, study needs some reinforcements to strengthen the findings.
There is also an alternative view on the matter, not exactly related to social health issues. Due to increasing levels of air pollution, the market for air purifiers will probably grow at a surprising CAGR of over 34%, as people become increasingly conscious about this vital matter. Increased awareness and alarming health problems make the air purifier markets grow, with China emerging as the most attractive place for air purifiers.
