Oculus Rift will ship out with Lucky’s Tale and EVE: Valkyrie
With everybody eagerly expecting the launch of Oculus Rift, considered to the ultimate gaming experience, each piece of news about the device seems to make it more desirable. According to Paul Bettner, founder and CEO of Playful, a gaming company, Oculus Rift will ship out with Lucky’s Tale.
Not only we will be able to buy the Oculus Rift in the first quarter of 2016, but the device will also ship out with Lucky’s Tale, a platform-like game which takes advantage of the new gaming technology. It may not be as spectacular as other games, but Lucky’s Tale will definitely show you what Oculus Rift is capable of.
Paul Bettner, the think-tank behind Playful and Lucky’s Tale, declared that he has been struck with the Oculus project since the beginning. Also, he seems to think that Playful’s newly designed game can be considered as a fire baptism for the new gaming system.
And now, let’s get cracking on the game. Lucky’s Tale is the recollection of Lucky, a pixelated fox which jumps around, collects coins and bashes otherworldly creatures. Revamping games seem to have become quite a trend lately.
Upon poking around through Steam archive, one might discover remastered titles such as King’s Quest or Abe’s Odyssey. And why should we forget about platform games? Lucky’s Tale now seems to have become a true statement, saying that platform games are not dead, but very much alive.
And with Oculus Rift on the way, we will soon see a change in gaming experiences. Lucky’s Tale might be one example of Rift’s capability, but, after the device hits the market, who knows what other applications will be developed?
We could very well witness, in the nearby future, a VR-ready version of Skyrim or Fallout. For now, we will have to settle for the colorful adventures of Lucky, the fox.
But wait, there is more. According to several online posts, it would seem that Lucky’s Tale won’t be the only game accompanying the VR headset. EVE, the online space games, has announced that they will be launching their newest game, named “Eve: Valkyrie”. Moreover, the new space game will be VR compatible.
What more can we desire? VR space combat, running-and-bashing fun with Lucky the fox, and the perspective that more application will be coming soon to the much-awaited VR headset.
Now, let’s have a little chat about the price of this device. Considering its specs, we can be sure that Oculus Rift won’t be cheap. Furthermore, in order to use Oculus, your PC must have some pretty high specs.
