A 7-year-old Miami boy was taken into custody last week after, while at school, he allegedly attacked a teacher and repeatedly punched her in the back. The child’s parents reacted by disapproving with the Police’s conduct. Armed forces took the minor into custody.
As the investigation continues, additional information on the child’s alleged aggressive behavior has continued surfacing. A video of the incident appeared Friday on Facebook and also generated a reaction from the child’s parents.
According to them, the boy was called “a danger to society”. The child’s mother is defending her son and calling the authorities’ conduct as being “police abuse”.
“I know my kid did wrong, and he will be punished for what he did… But what the police officer did afterward, this is out of hand. Unbelievable”, said Rolando Fuentes, the child’s father.
In response, Florida school district officials declared that they followed standard protocol by placing the minor in handcuffs and removing him from school.
The child allegedly attacked a teacher after his being removed from the school cafeteria for playing with food.
According to the Police report, he repeatedly punched the teacher in the back and pulled her hair. The 7-year-old is now in a children psychiatric hospital, according to ABC affiliate WPLG. He is due to undergo an evaluation.
The Miami Boy, Not at First Violent Act
The boy was also accused of kicking a teacher back in November 2017. At the time, the school solved the issue internally and did not involve the police. The child’s parents agreed to a ten-day suspension and were told that the minor should undergo a psychiatric evaluation.
This first event also comes in two different versions, one being that of the parents and the other coming from school authorities.
District officials state that the Miami boy could go to the hospital with a parent. However, the child’s mother denies that she or the minor’s father could accompany him.
