Meet Pinky, The Pink Dolphin
We all know what fascinating creatures dolphins are. They are very intelligent, playful and some people consider them man’s best friend after your long-term companion, the dog. But have you ever seen a pink dolphin? One man was lucky enough to spot one. He managed to get it on camera and shot some photos with the cute little one as well. He has also been doing it for around eight years.
We are not really sure who to start with first, but let’s begin with our rare star. Meet Pinky, the pink dolphin. We know, it is a rather obvious and perhaps boring name for some people, but we have to give credit where credit is due. This little guy is not only rare, but it is the cutest thing we could have laid our eyes on. Just like the rest of his species, he is super smart and he is like a living battery.
But it would have been way harder to spot Pinky without the quick eyes of the beholder: Erik Rue. Rue is a charter boat captain and he first saw Pinky from Calcasieu Parish, his boat. Rue mentioned that he first encountered Pinky eight years ago and that he would always swim alongside his mother. But things have changed over the years: Pinky is a grown up dolphin who can swim on his own and with other dolphins as well.
Pinky is an extremely rare specimen due to his pigmentation. There are very few dolphins in the world with the exact “skin tone”. That’s why we are so excited to have him around. He has been spotted quite a few times this summer and seems to be in top condition. Rue declared that Pinky seems healthy and happy and, as far as we know, this is everything that keeps dolphins up and running, or swimming.
It is good to see that the dolphin is feeling wonderful and, hopefully, it will remain that way for a good number of years.
