Jaxon Is The Boy Who Lived
Miracles happen every day, and if you do not believe that, you might as well start doing so. This is the story of Jaxon Buell, a baby who was born with a terrible condition that, in the eyes of all doctors, deemed him unfit to live. But you might say that Jaxon is the boy who lived. Not having a full skull and a part of his brain missing, Jaxon celebrated his first birthday this August.
When he was born, doctors gave Jaxon a few days to live. There was no more hope for his parents and despair made its way into the family, knowing that they baby boy would not grow to see the world that had welcomed him in such a cruel matter. Jaxon, on the other hand, had something else in mind, and decided to live on and beat despair and the nonbelieving doctors.
He has been treated for many years and lived through a good number of misdiagnoses until the doctors finally discovered what was wrong with little Jaxon: microhydraencephaly. It is a rare brain malformation which, to date, has no cure. The little hero is fighting every day and his parents have been with him through his journey, telling his story to the world via social media.
In September, Brandon Buell told the world that he and his wife decided to move forward with the pregnancy despite knowing that little Jaxon was not exactly as he should have been. A 17-week ultrasound gave them the indications they needed, but they never took abortion into consideration. They asked whether little Jax could live outside his mother’s womb and if Brittany Buell would be endangered by giving birth. These were not the cases, so the pregnancy was continued.
The parents seem to be very happy with Jaxon, especially because he is a normal baby, just like any other. The only differences that the parents have stated were his small size and the fact that he needs a feeding tube for his daily intake. Jaxon is always going to be a small child, but that is no reason for his parents not to love him. They are always there for him and, apparently, so is the world.
The “Jaxon Strong” Facebook page has already received some 200,000 likes and support his cause while his GoFundMe page has generated approximately $100,000, donations that assist the family in growing a very, very beautiful child.
