Instagram Got The Spotlight
You’ve heard it folks: Instagram got the spotlight this week as it beaked 400 million users. It was quite an impressive score if we consider that it left Twitter way behind with its 316 million users, so it is only fit that we congratulate Instagram on its well-deserved victory. But it doesn’t have to end here. Even if Instagram is number one at the moment, it is still looking to expand.
A company blog post actually mentioned that above 50% of the 100 million who joined Instagram are located in Asia and Europe. Instagram is still looking sharp and continues to house new members every day. It looks like Facebook’s $1 billion investment in 2012 is starting to pay off nicely, generating massive content and a ton of cash.
Approximately 80 million photos are shared on Instagram every day. From dusk until dawn people share their experiences in different locations, with special people and want the rest of their friends to feel good. There are also new celebrities bolstering its ranks such as Caitlyn Jenner or David Beckham and the sponsored posts that Instagram is experimenting with are a great way of making it a profitable source of income.
While Instagram’s life is gorgeous and attracting more and more people, things are not looking too good for Twitter, which has pretty much stagnated at the “bring in new people” chapter. Twitter is by no means doomed, but 80 million users behind is not exactly something you can easily get past. Still, we live in a world in which competition is very tight, so we might expect Twitter to make some sort of comeback.
Another company blog post stated that “when Instagram launched nearly five years ago, 400 million seemed like a distant dream… Now, we continue to strive to improve Instagram — helping you experience the world through images and connect with others through shared passions.”
So way to go Instagram! If you have yet to sign up for this wonderful experience, we warmly recommend that you do. This is officially the new best way for you to get connected with your friends and share your most memorable experiences.
