The Houston woman claimed that she didn’t realize that the gun was loaded.
While everyone is entitled to carry a firearm for protection, it doesn’t necessarily mean that everyone should. This fact seems to be proven by a Houston woman who recently got into a lot of hot water with the authorities she shot a man in the head while fooling around with a loaded gun the car.
Houston Woman Captured on Facebook Live While Shooting the Gun
According to the Houston authorities, the incident occurred on Sunday, at around 2:30 a.m. in the parking lot of a gas station. The victim, 26-year-old Devyn Holmes was rushed to the hospital in critical condition and remains on life support.
After reviewing the Facebook Live video, which was seen thousands of times since it was posted, the Houston authorities arrested 25-year-old Cassandra Damper and charged her with fabricating evidence.
Based on the eyewitnesses’ accounts and the Facebook video, the authorities managed to reconstruct the moments before Devyn’s shooting.
Damper, Holmes, and another person were in Holmes’ vehicle, which appeared to be parked. At one point, one of them unholsters a gun and places it on the driver’s armrest.
After exchanging a couple of mildly amusing lines, the Houston woman grabs the gun and points it towards the camera. Holmes tells Damper to put the weapon down as he was feeling unnerved by the weapon’s presence.
The other man inside the vehicle tells Holmes to calm down as the weapon had no ammo in it. A few seconds later, Holmes can be heard asking Damper where she’s from.
Then, the Facebook Live video shows Damper pulling the safety off and cocking the gun, pointing it towards Holmes. She’s heard telling Holmes ‘Say something, bitch.’ After that, the gun goes off, hitting Holmes in the head.
Before the authorities arrived, the Houston woman attempted to wash away the gun residue from her hands.
