HBO Now is now available on Android, as the exclusivity agreement with Apple has come to an end.
iOS users have gotten a jump start at the amazing movie streaming app, that provides users with access to the latest series and films, all for $14,99 a month. Despite the fact that is the most expensive movie app out there, HBO Now was on high demand, due to its almost flawless reputation.
And since HBO Now was so successful on iOS, then bringing it to Android as well can only make it even more popular. Analysts predict that Android will bring in around 75 million new users, making HBO Now a force to be reckoned with. Once it is released on Chromecast and Amazon Fire TV, along with the Fire TV Stick in the weeks to come, the HBO Now will be the biggest name in movie apps.
“Amazon has cultivated an incredibly vast and savvy base of customers that we’re excited to provide with unlimited access to all of HBO through HBO Now,” said HBO executive Bernadette Aulestia, who is in charge of Global Distribution Operations.
This is a particularly good time for HBO, as the official Emmy Nominee List has basically proclaimed HBO the master of the television industry. HBO has earned a total of 126 nominations this years, thus setting a new Emmy record. And what truly demonstrates the extent of its influence in the TV world is the fact that it has effectively dethroned its own performance from last year, when it scored 124 nominations.
“Game of Thrones” alone is responsible for 24 of the nominations and the phenomenon series probably has something to do with HBO Now’s success as well, since the show was still running when the app was released.
HBO Now was released free of charge for the first month and this has made a lot of people hopelessly fall in love with the app and come back for more and more. Furthermore, the fact that the HBO app comes free from any connection to cable TV providers makes it absolutely ideal, as for some people “Game of Thrones”, “True Detective” and John Oliver’s show are probably the most interesting things about television.
The app also features a great many other HBO original series and films, but also documentaries and live broadcasts. There is also and extensive list of amazing movies and there is even the possibility for content on demand, thus meeting the needs of all movie aficionados out there.
