It seems like the year 2014 was a favorable year for Greggs. The British food-on-the-go retailer is confident that they will be able to surpass the profit expectation forecasted by the analysts. This is not the first time in the year 2014 that Greggs has increased its profit outlook. In fact, it is already the second time within just a short span of four months. According to them, their stronger profit outlook is positively affected by the helpful weather and the favorable trading environment.
Greggs is now anticipating for its 53 weeks to the 13th of January 2015 to surpass the expectations of analysts. Before the update, the average forecast of the analysts for a pretax profit is 53.6 million pounds or $84.4 million. It is even higher than last year’s forecast of 41.3 million.
According to Roger Whiteside, who is the Chief Executive of Greggs, even when it is true that the favorable weather and trading environment helped the company, they also cannot deny the fact that customers are also contributing to their success as they are responding to the changes in the products and services that Greggs offer and even to the improvements and investments made in the shop environment.
