A Fayetteville mom has been arrested and charged over the weekend after the authorities determined that the woman attempted to poison her children with lighter fluid. The woman gave no reason for her gesture during her first court appearance. Cumberland County DA ordered a psych evaluation for the woman.
Fayetteville Mom Mixed Lighter Fluid with Cream Soda
According to the police report, on Sunday, a woman, who identified herself as the accused’s neighbor, called the authorities after a child knocked on her door and told her that his mother put something in his cream soda.
The suspect, later identified as Octavia Robinson, allegedly tried to poison her 10-year-old son and her 6-year-old daughter.
Robinson’s son told the authorities that his mother made them a special treat for breakfast. His sister began eating, but the boy refused to take another sip. He also told his mother that the beverage had a funny taster. When the boy saw his mother’s look, he ran to Tracy Madison, Robinson’s next-door neighbor.
The authorities determined that the Fayetteville mom attempted to poison the 10-year-old boy and his sister with a mixture of cream soda and lighter fluid.
Following Madison’s report, the woman was taken into custody and charged with child abuse and one count of distributing food containing deleterious or noxious materials. The Fayetteville mom made no attempts to deny the charges.
Unfortunately, the authorities couldn’t establish why Robison tried to poison her children.
Conclusion
It would seem as the unruly mother made quite a scene during her Tuesday court appearance. According to a reporter covering Robinson’s trial, the Fayetteville mom got angry when the judge asked her about the children. Reportedly, Robinson placed her hands behind her back and asked the bailiff to return her to the prison cell.
