Insurance Collector Attacked in Broad Daylight
Kathy Oliver, the victim of the recent armed attacked, told the authorities that on the day of the assault, she was near the 409 North Labor Street making her rounds when the event occurred. As the woman recalls, he was just about to go to one of the houses to collect insurance when she sighted several menacing looking individuals, with two of them carrying firearms.
Oliver told the officers that two of the men approached her and demanded the money bag the insurance collector was carrying. After the woman told them that she refuses to hand over the case, one of the suspects stroke her over the face with his pistol making the woman collapse.
The insurance collector told the authorities that by the time she managed to come to her senses, the individuals and the money case were gone. When asked to describe the suspect, Oliver told the authorities that all of them seemed to be African-American and wore dark clothing and hoodies.
Oliver also recalls that when the armed suspects approached her, she saw that the weapons they were carrying were made from plastic. Nevertheless, she said that the hit felt pretty real. After the event, the woman was taken to the hospital for medical care.
Although her eye is still swollen from the hit and she needed a couple of stitches, Oliver declared that this little incident will not be the end of her career. The insurance collector will resume work on Monday.
Meanwhile, the authorities are looking for the individuals and ask anyone with information to call 911.
