Diapers for preemies are one of the best initiatives for Huggies. Because only 1.4% of children are born prematurely there are not a lot of options when it comes to diapers. This is why Huggies decided to help the parents of premature babies by launching diapers for preemies. These diapers are going to be named Huggies Little Snugglers Nano Preemie Diapers.
These diapers are designed for babies that weight less than 2 pounds. The company announced that their new product is going to protect the delicate skin of small babies. In order to create this product, the company worked with nurses from Neonatal Intensive Care Units and neonatal therapists.
“We’re passionate about helping all babies thrive, especially the smallest and most fragile,” said Eleonora Daireaux, Huggies North America vice president.
By creating diapers for preemies the company showed that they want to please every possible customer. Huggies mentioned that this project took 6 months to complete. They also said that they were helped by skin science, product safety, brand’s research, and manufacturing experts.
The diaper company mentioned that they made this product in a short period of time because their customers need them right away. These diapers for preemies are designed to protect and care for the skin of premature babies.
In order to help these small babies, the diapers have a special absorbent pad. Despite the fact that they are so small, the diapers are very flexible so that babies are allowed to move freely. In order to make sure that the diapers are safe and effective for these babies, the company got them through rigorous inspections.
This product is also part of an interesting program called No Baby Unhugged. This project wants to make sure that every baby receives human contact. Studies have shown that babies, especially preemies need more human contact. This is why Huggies is donating money to volunteers. This way, volunteers go to the hospital and hug babies.
Ann& Robert H. Laurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago was the first facility that implemented the project. This No Baby Unhugged program is designed to help babies develop better. Due to the fact that babies in the NICU can’t be visited by their parents, the NICU volunteers are the ones that interact with the babies.
