Chronicles of the Ohio Murders: Four Women Dead, Two Still Missing

Jul 4, 2015 By Melissa Gansler 2 Comments

Chronicles of the Ohio Murders Four Women Dead, Two Still MissingResidents of Chillicothe, Ohio are finding themselves locking doors and wary of wandering outside at night, after a string of female murders and disappearances which seem to be connected between them has started since May 2014.

Four Chillicote women have been found dead in the meanwhile, while two others have disappeared without trace; apparently, all of them were possible drug addicts and/or prostitutes. And in a relatively small community of 20.000, police investigators have reason to believe that the women were all involved in the same circles, and that sooner or later they will find someone with knowledge of the broader picture.

The first connected case might be that of 28-year old Charlotte Trego, who has been missing for over a year. Her last sighting was in May 2014, when her mother, Waverly resident Yvonne Bogs, drove her to a Chillicothe apartment. However, surprising details come from her mother’s allegations, who said that she was a drug addict and engaged in prostitution to acquire the necessary funds.

Two weeks later, a 30-year old woman named Tameka Lynch was reported missing. She was found dead on a beach in Paint Creek more than one year later, and four days after she had died according to the coroner’s office. Her death was initially ruled as a drug overdose, after traces of cocaine were found in her body.

No further related incidents occurred until November 2014, when Wanda Lemons, mother of five, was reported missing by her mother who hadn’t heard about her in two months. One of her friends said that to her knowledge Lemons was going to Texas together with a truck driver, while Lemons herself last updated her Facebook page on November 5. Since then, no one has seen or heard anything about her.

On the second day of Christmas, pregnant 20 year old Shasta Himelrick went missing, just one day after she broke news of her pregnancy to her relatives. Her body was found in the Scioto River in January 2015, while autopsy found traces of oxycodone and cocaine in her body. The death was officially ruled a suicide by drowning.

Fast forward to May this year again, and we have 26 year old Tiffany Sayre disappearing. A mother of two, she followed the pattern of the other victims – reportedly being a drug addict. Her body was found two weeks ago very close to where Tameka Lynch’s body was found, wrapped in a sheet.

Last, but not least, 39-year old Timberly Claytor was found dead towards the end of May, being shot three times in the head. No official ruling has been given on the case, but friends of her revealed that she was also struggling with drug addiction, namely heroin. And, as the other victims, she was found near a body of water.

The murders might end up not being connected, but they do follow a similar pattern – all of the victims reportedly struggling with drug addictions, and the found bodies being near or in a body of water. There is no telling whether there is a drug underworld terrorizing Chillicote or if this is the work of a serial killer. If anyone has information regarding any of these cases, they can contact the special Ross County Task Force set up for solving the murders at 740-774-3463(FIND) or by email at [email protected]
