A Casio Watch is generally known to be a classic turned to class. It was acknowledged by famous actors in critically acclaimed movies, it was worn by celebrities and now we can see the golden classic Casio watch on the wrists of all hipsters worldwide. Casio became a vintage piece of value that has an entire history of quality and perfect timing behind.
For the past years, the company was slightly shaded by other manufacturers who managed to keep the pace with the fast moving industry and come up with technological advancement rather than good design and clear functions that work clockwise.
Now, the giant watch manufacturer is turning another page of their history and plans to launch a smartwatch expected to hit “a level of smartwatch perfection” by being easy to put on, versatile, durable and highly comfortable to wear. Casio follows the smartwatch path and we expect it to come back from the journey with a state-of-the-art result.
The prototype has been in development for a couple of years already and Casio plans to start shipping its first models to Japan until next March. Cost wise, the watch will be pretty much expensive so if you plan to get yourself one, you’d better start saving. The $400 worth smart watch is expected to be a hit.
Casio changes the approach, by reconsidering the core functionality of a smart watch. Officials declare that the company plans to design “a watch that tries to be smart, rather than a smart device that is also a watch”. Fair enough and nevertheless promising, as when it comes to the watches business, Casio is known to be among the leaders.
This territory is not virgin for Casio after all, as it has previously added cutting-edge technology into previous watch models that unfortunately met questionable public reception. Casio already has a range of devices with heart-rate monitors, schedule managers and communication functions.
It’s high time for them to go back to those times when their technology was cutting-edge, hence met the raised eyebrows of a public that was reluctant in terms of innovation coming from a simple watch manufacturer.
When it comes to Casio, people are only used to the classic functions, although the wise designers have been trying for a long time to raise the standards of technology.
Casio CEO declared that “we are trying to bring our smartwatch to a level of watch perfection: a device that won’t break easily, is simple to put on and feels good to wear.” It sounds great in theory but we cannot wait to get our hands one a future Casio Smartwatch and see what it can do.
