A 40-year-old woman came in with abdominal pains, but realized that she was actually going into labor.
As astonishing as this may seem, it actually happened in a state hospital from Massachusetts. Judy Brown, a 47 year-old woman from the state of Massachusetts, was admitted into the emergency room after she accused severe pains in her lower abdomen. Fate was that she came for belly pains, but stayed for the baby.
Misses Brown, initial thoughts hover around a blockage or gall stones. She was even more bewildered than her physicians, when informed that she was actually going into labor.
The same woman declared for the press that her prognostic regarding her status quo was very grim. Little did she know that her whole life is going to be changed that night. She was overwhelmed with joy at the perspective of becoming a mother, although she mentioned that this was not in her plans.
She was immediately rushed to the birthing table and, an hour later, she gave birth to a healthy baby girl. Young Carolyn Rose, Brown’ newborn, named after her mother and her husband’s mother, has 8 pounds and 2 ounces and her doctors added that both infant and mother are in perfect condition.
When asked about the whole “came for belly pains, but stayed for the baby” affair, Judy Brown said that although her body underwent significant chances over the past few months, she was not aware that she might actually be pregnant. She and her husband have been married for over 22 years and not once did she gave a thought to having a baby.
A spokesperson from the state hospital declared that the mother is recovering well after giving birth and that she will be discharged today. Judy and her husband will probably be out there decorating the baby’s new crib.
Although Misses Brown’s case is amazing, her condition is not actually unique. She might be suffering from a medical condition known as cryptic pregnancy. Woman who suffer from this disorder are usually unaware that they pregnant until they go into labor. What causes cryptic pregnancy? Doctors say that this disorder might be triggered in women who take regular doses of weight loss medication or have a regular menstrual bleeding. They also lack the symptoms associated with pregnancy such as morning sickness or vomiting. Cryptic pregnancy is also closely related to the size of the fetus. Specialists confirmed that expecting mother can be totally oblivious to their condition due to the fact that her baby may be too small.
