It would seem that road accidents don’t mar only the leaving, but the dead as well. While on a routine patrol on a Texan highway, a police officer made a gruesome discovery. Lying in a ditch, just beside the road, was the cadaver of a 79-year old female. The police manage to identify the cadaver as being Nell Joseph.

Coroners determined that the woman died somewhere around Thanksgiving, fact confirmed by the family who was called upon in order to identify the corps. Her family members said that before Joseph died she took the decision of entrusting her body to science.

Thus, with the contract being signed the cadaver was on its way to California to the Science Care center where the medical examiners would have used her earthly remains in order to study the effects of the chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
But, little did she know that, upon her death, her body would end up in a ditch, far away from home. The police officer who found the body declared that he immediately figured out that it was a study specimen due to the fact that the cadaver was put inside a black bag which contained medical ice packs.
An investigation has been launched in order to determine how the cadaver ended up on the Texan road. After performing a couple of check-ups, the police traced the culprit back to the company which provided the means to transport the cadavers to the study centers. According to their investigation, it would seem that van’s back window had poor sealing. Thus, while on the road, the cadaver basically crashed out the back window.
Science Care Center opened its own investigation in order to see what transpired in this case. According to their testimony, corroborated with the police’s finding the window’s seal was actually the culprit in this case. Moreover, it would seem that the van’s driver had no clue that the corpse flew out the back window.
