Because no day should pass by without having read about some oddity that occurred in the United States, we bring you the case of a 33-year-old woman from Nevada who sought justice from the world in the only way she could – by entering a playground with an ax and threatening to kill everyone.
Ax-Wielding Junky Managed to Scale the Playground’s Fence
The Nevada Police Department revealed that the freak incident occurred on Tuesday afternoon at the local elementary school’s playground. According to several eyewitnesses, somewhere around noon, a woman, later identified as 33-year-old Kisstal Kilough, approached playground’s fence carrying a heavy object in her right hand.
No one paid too much attention to Kilough at first, as she was just standing there as if she tried to find someone. However, things took a turn for the worst when the woman started to scale the playground’s metallic fence with her ax in hand.
One eyewitness revealed that once the woman got inside the playground, she started hollering about how she’s going to kill everyone there. Fortunately, a public information officer was at the playground and managed to chase away the ax-wielding junky before calling the authorities.
A minute later, several North Las Vegas police officers arrived in time to see Kilough trying to scale the fence again. Upon seeing the authorities, the ax-wielding junky dropped the ax and surrendered without an incident.
Kristie Cole, the principal of Tom Williams Elementary School, wrote letters to parents, detailing the event. Cole told the press that the whole thing could have ended badly should the authorities not arrived in time because there were about 200 children playing in the enclosure at the time Kilough scaled the fence.
According to the officers who made the arrest, the suspect appeared to be phased out, most likely on narcotics. The ax-wielding junky was arrested and charged with trespass, nuisance, loitering, and assault with a deadly weapon.
