If you are one of the people who purchased the new Apple TV, you might have already noticed by now that Apple changed the way TVs work. It’s not about watching TV anymore, but it is a wider experience filled with all kinds of apps that encourage a diverse life. You can play games on the Apple TV now, you can pick up good fitness programs and it looks like you can even read comic books for a 100% immersive experience.
Apple did promise that they would change the perception of TV before their new produce was launched and they did not disappoint. On the contrary, there is one extra feature that will be coming to the Apple TV in 2016, which some users consider to be the best thing that Apple has ever done: they are adding a “personal global” Siri search, which is going to be able to look through all your Apple devices to find out what and where you have something stored.
But since the Siri search is still months away, let’s look at some of the apps that we have available just now and that can make your time spent with the Apple TV feel worthwhile. We are going to look at apps like Madefire, Geometry Wars and Zova, whose features have been described just above. Make sure you check the rest of the Apple TV apps as well. Who knows what you might find there that actually interests you.
Let’s start with Madefire. This is a total oldschool app made for those who want to watch their favorite comics. But this is not your regular comic read. The experience has been enhanced with fluent animations, music that will set the atmosphere and what is awesome is that the app itself is free. You will have to purchase the comics that you want to see, however.
Next up we have Geometry Wars, which has been a greatly acclaimed game by many of the people who have tried it. It’s a very basic game in which you just have to eliminate enemies while moving around on a spherical shape. The app comes with a $10 price and it is great to try out because of the Apple TV remote’s touch pad. It’s easier to play than it is on the iPhone just because of that.
The last app that we want to look at is Zova, which is a fitness app meant to keep you up and running. It gives you the opportunity to check out workshops from the comfort of your phone. While the need for this app is arguable, because you can also watch it on your phone or laptop, the sheer size of the Apple TV’s screen might come in handy with this app. And did we also mention that it is free?
Apple changed the way TVs work and we are going to notice that in the generation to come.
