The new Android Wear updated comes with more apps for the users to enjoy. The new features even include interactive watch faces.
Google has finally announced the Android Wear LCA43 update1.3. It will be available for Android Wear users in a matter of weeks and it promises new features and applications.
One of the most anticipated features that Android Wear users hoped for is the interactive watch face feature. The interactive watch faces will allow users to have access to their widgets and apps without opening them. They will be able to see information and various functions related to an application within individual watch faces.
Google has introduced a new section for the interactive watch faces on the Google Play online app store. At the moment, users can chose from over 20 different interactive watch faces. Even though some of them are free, others require payment.
In order to explain the use of those interactive watch faces, the company made a blog entry about some of the features that will be available to Android Wear users.
Google explained that the Bits watch face allows users to see information on weather and meetings and they can also check their unread e-mails on it.
The company also mentioned the Together watch face that works like a classic messenger app, allowing users to turn their watch screen into an instant messaging window where they can communicate with one another, post emoticons or send pictures. This will only work when people use the same watch face.
Google Translate is also a new feature available for Android Wear users. The feature will initially come with 44 languages that will allow its users to have bilingual conversations directly from their Android Wear watch.
The translation feature will be easy to use. Once they receive a message in one language, the users will be able to see the translation by simply flipping their wrists. After they write a response message in their language, they will be able to translate that by flipping their wrists in the opposite direction.
When users update to version 1.3 they will have the option to create their own interactive watch faces, using the Interactive Watch Face API made for developers. They will be able to change their watch face design and also chose to see more information on it. Google will also allow them to launch their favourite apps from their custom watch face.
