Superman Will Appear In The Supergirl TV Series
Supergirl is CBS’s new approach on Kara Zor’El’s story, a story that has not been touched too much by anybody in the small screen film industry. There has been a lot of interest in whether Superman will ever appear in the series, not blurred out or indirectly, but if we could actually see him in the flesh. So you might find it interesting to know that Superman will appear in the Supergirl TV series, but he will appear next year, not this one.
Superman will appear as a teenager, however, and he will bestow the experience of a not-too-old Kryptonian onto a young Kara. It might not be the Superman that we all expected, but it’s still something to start with and it might be an indicator that we will see a more mature version of him later on. Superman is a debatable subject in the series either way since his story must not interfere with Kara’s.
It appears that the only way to get around the project and display Superman at a more tender age is to do so through flashbacks. We are most likely going to witness many conversations that occur just after Kara lands on Earth in which Kal explains how you actually need to behave among humans. After all, they both have superpowers which are difficult to control from the beginning. But Kal has been around long enough to understand how things work.
The only flaw in this entire narrative is the fact that we will be seeing a 13 year old Kal’El. As the season begins and Kara explains her story, we witness how she lands on Earth and she is escorted by a relatively “old-looking” Superman, wearing a costume. Previous Superman lore indicates that Kal does not put on the suit until a relatively old age of at least 20 something. So Kara gets saved by an adult Superman, but then we get to see a teenage one lecturing her? Not exactly accurate, is it?
Anyhow, we will need to see how the writers are going to deal with this flaw or if they are going to make any type of major change about how they are going to portray Superman in the series. Hopefully we will get something “good enough” that will take our eyes off it.
Superman will appear in the Supergirl TV series, but the creators have made it very clear that Kara is the main protagonist of the series. Even if Superman outshines her in a lot of ways, this TV series is ging to be about her and not him.
