60-inch 4K Xiaomi MiTV 3 for under 800 dollars? Yes, but only for the Chinese market, the company has recently announced.
Xiaomi is already an infamous name in the tech world. It shook up the smartphone market, and it has a piece of every other tech-sector. The quality smartphones that made a name for the Chinese company led to a second challenge. How to create a state of the art TV set that is affordable and meets the latest tech requirements?
At the Beijing event taking place on Monday, the company announced that it will release the 60-inch 4K Xiaomi MiTV 3 for under 800 dollars or 4,999 yuan. On the Chinese market, a display that offers 60-inch 4K and many other perks usually reaches double the price.
One of the most noteworthy characteristics of the set is that it comes with a detachable speaker bar. This alone offers the possibility for great upgrades. While the majority of displays have the speakers incorporated, MiTV 3 has both the processor and motherboard packed in the speaker bar, coming separately.
The 8GB of storage, 2G of DDR3 RAM and the MStar 6A928 processor all packed in one provide the easily accessible upgrade for any other device that you wish to connect it to. The MiPort also offers access to quick connectivity to Xiaomi’s TV platform, MIUI TV. All Android-based. Any port you might be looking for is on the speaker, for easy access. If you’re thinking upgrading an older MiTV, then the separate speaker is accessible separately, for approximately 155 dollars or 999 yuan. Bypassing the whole idea of buying a new TV is nothing short of surprising news.
The MiTV 3 is the first to offer a 60-inch display from the three smart TVs on the shelf from Xiaomi. The process to lower the prices has been ongoing for some years. Lowering manufacturing costs means lower output price. And for the Chinese customers, this translates in substantial cuts and a noteworthy pricetag for the latest quality tech.
The 60-inch display is signed LG and is framed by a metal frame, only 36.7 mm at the frame’s thickest point. The 60-inch 4K Xiaomi MiTV 3 for under 800 dollars is set to hit the market in November. No specific details are yet released.
